Hot wallet

A wallet whose keys are kept on an internet-connected system, allowing transactions to be signed and broadcast promptly. In the context of services, hot-wallet addresses are used to process withdrawals; customer deposits may be periodically swept into them, depending on the service's architecture. Keeping keys online increases their exposure to compromise, so services typically limit the funds held in hot wallets.
