Cold wallet

A wallet whose private keys are kept offline, such as on a hardware device where the key never leaves the device. Keys or the seed from which they are derived can also be stored offline on paper or metal. Services typically use cold wallets to secure the bulk of customer funds; the assets themselves remain on-chain.
