Non-fungible token (NFT)
A token in which each unit has a unique identifier, so that one unit is not interchangeable with another. NFTs are commonly issued under ERC-721, or under ERC-1155, a standard that supports both fungible and non-fungible units. An NFT proves control of the token itself; it does not, by itself, confer legal ownership of, or intellectual property rights in, the item it refers to, which is usually stored off-chain and referenced by a link.
