Internal transaction

An operation triggered by a smart contract during the execution of an on-chain transaction, rather than submitted as a separate transaction by a user. It can include native-coin transfers made by contracts, calls between contracts, or the creation of new contracts. Internal transactions are not recorded as standalone transactions; they are reconstructed from execution traces, which may not be fully displayed by block explorers. Failed or reverted operations must be distinguished from completed transfers. Token transfers are generally displayed separately, based on events emitted by token contracts (see Transfer).
